Freddie the Magical Frog

Freddie the Magical Frog was our latest backyard guest. Like all of the other backyard guests, his time in the children's playhouse was short-lived - he hopped off to greener pastures or safer places:) Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed his time with us.

Hunter named him Freddie and decided that Freddie was magical; apparently,Freddie had the power to turn everything blue - go figure. I just love not knowing what the next storyline will be!

A Milestone (of sorts)

On a recent shopping trip, I was shocked to learn that Hunter is completely out of the toddler section in some stores and almost out of it in all the others. Where has my little guy gone? All of sudden he's a big boy wearing big boy clothes that cost $2 more than their toddler counterparts - pretty sure the little bit of extra fabric didn't cost $2. I try hard to treasure each moment, even the rough ones, but how does the time pass so quickly?

His favorite new outfit!

A Conversation with Hunter

Last week I agreed to babysit a friend's 20 month old daughter. My kids just adore Kaytlyn and love having her around. After Kaylyn's mom picked her up, Hunter and I had this conversation:

Hunter: I just want Kaytlyn to stay with us.

Me: You mean stay at our house all of the time.

Hunter: Yes

Me: Her mom and dad would miss her.

Hunter: They could come visit.

Me: Why don't we just let Kaytlyn come visit us?

Hunter: I really want a baby.

Me: Sorry Hunter, we aren't having a baby.

Hunter: But I want you to have one in your belly.

Me: Sorry Hunter, just enjoy your sister.

Hunter: But she's big.

Hunter: Let's just go buy one at the store.

Me: A real baby or a baby doll?

Hunter: A real one

Me: Sorry buddy, they don't sell real babies at the store. We'll just have to play with Sissy's baby dolls.

Seriously, the things he comes up with:) Never a dull moment around here!

Playground Antics

We've take taking advantage of the beautiful weather lately and playing outside as much as possible. Before long, the heat and humidity will make things considerably less comfortable.

A Special Suprise

Check out my beautiful surprise from my beloved! Since moving to New Orleans, he's always on the road, but lately he's been on the road even more than normal. The flowers were quite the unexpected treat!

The Zoo with Ava

Last week we ventured back to the zoo with Ava, a friend from preschool. The kids had a ball playing with her and taking pictures with her. She was so popular that day. No sooner would Hunter say, "Ava, take a picture with me!" than Hannah would chime in, "Ava, take a picture with me!" Thanks for playing with us Ava!
