Surgery

We arrived at the hospital at 7:00 a.m. on Monday morning. We spent the next 2.5 hours trying to entertain Hunter and Hannah as they waited for surgery. Needless to say, neither child was overly excited to be in the hospital and 2.5 hours is a long time to wait. The nurse finally took Hannah to the back for surgery at 9:35 a.m. This process was just as agonizing as the last time and then some. I guess being a year older means she can scream that much louder. The doctor said that Hannah gave them a very hard time in the back - no surprises there:) Hannah returned within 40 minutes and then it was Hunter's turn.

Hunter walked to the back on his own without even a peep. I could see the fear in his eyes, but he just held the nurse's hands and walked ever so slowly with her. When Hunter returned, he had a very hard time waking from the anaesthesia. We didn't leave the hospital until 2:30 p.m., and Hunter still wasn't fully coherent.

By the time we arrived home, Hannah seemed to be her normal self. Monday night was rough for Hunter. He could not sleep and hated the thought of drinking anything. Tuesday was still very rough for Hunter, but he seems to be feeling better this morning. Hopefully he will have a much better night tonight! Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers!
