Dee Dee's VBS

The kids had the chance to attend VBS at my mom's church earlier this summer. Hannah was even allowed to be part of the fun this year. We had a ball at Crocodile Dock. The lessons were great and both kids really learned about Moses, Pharoah, and Jesus. Hannah learned so much about Pharoah that she had a bit of a panic attack during a skit that involved Pharoah. I actually had to take her out of the sanctuary because she was so afraid of the mean, mean man. Her early exit meant she didn't get to see how God would deal with Pharoah. I guess that's a lesson we'll have to learn later. We don't mention Pharoah around here right now - she's very sensitive!

I'm thankful that she's such a good listener:)

MOPS Celebration

The theme for MOPS this last year was Adventures in Mothering. We ended the year in true carnival style in our backyard with all sorts of fun and games. We had 13 moms and 28 kids attend. The kids enjoyed the large bounce house complete with slide, two water tables, a smaller bouncer for the smaller children, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and tons of food - the perfect ending to a terrific year. MOPS has been such a blessing for us; I'm sad to leave such a great group of friends. Hopefully we'll find another such group when we arrive in Tennessee.

Air Show

I am so behind on my blogs! I am doing my best to catch up. Last month, we took the kids to the New Orleans Air Show. We live close to the air field so we could see the planes practicing; Hunter loved watching the "Angels" fly over our house. We just knew he would love the air show, but we weren't sure how Hannah would react. We got there just before the Blue Angels performed and Hunter was ready to leave before he saw them fly. Hannah, on the other hand, loved watching them and was not anywhere near ready to leave. These two always keep us guessing.

Crawfish Boil

A few weeks ago we hosted a crawfish boil for a couple from church who will be getting married next week. Other than the intermittent rain showers, we had a great time celebrating with everyone.
