Playground Antics

We've take taking advantage of the beautiful weather lately and playing outside as much as possible. Before long, the heat and humidity will make things considerably less comfortable.

A Special Suprise

Check out my beautiful surprise from my beloved! Since moving to New Orleans, he's always on the road, but lately he's been on the road even more than normal. The flowers were quite the unexpected treat!

The Zoo with Ava

Last week we ventured back to the zoo with Ava, a friend from preschool. The kids had a ball playing with her and taking pictures with her. She was so popular that day. No sooner would Hunter say, "Ava, take a picture with me!" than Hannah would chime in, "Ava, take a picture with me!" Thanks for playing with us Ava!

Trip Treats

Pete's constant travels make for some great trip treats (Julie, I stole the phrase from you). He recently returned from a week in Japan and brought the kids super cool toys - Hannah's very own Japanese baby and Hunter's cool Japanese super heroes.

It's probably safe to say that we are the only ones in the neighborhood with these cool toys!

On Cue

Pete loves to sing silly songs to the kids. He uses familiar tunes and changes the words; most of the time Hannah gets upset because he isn't singing the correct words. She fervently tries to correct him until she finally gives up.

The other day he was singing to the tune of "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" and her response made us both giggle. If only I had this on video...

Pete: Hannah is my best-est friend

Hannah (without hesitation): no, no, no, no, no

She didn't miss a beat. She didn't stop to think about anything; she just chimed right in using the same tune and added her own words. She loved making us giggle, so she continued to sing for a few more times. We've tried to get her to do it again, but apparently that is now an old trick:)

Perfectly Logical!

Last night when I asked Hannah which Bible story she wanted to read, she quickly replied the phone one. Having absolutely no clue what that meant, I asked her again and again she said the phone one; only this time she held out her two hands.

Still having no clue which story she wanted, I asked her to show me the story. She opened her Bible to the story entitled God's Rules. The picture of Moses holding the stone tablets in each hand with his arms extended explained her holding her hands out, but I still didn't see a phone connection. I made sure she wanted to read this particular story. She insisted!

The story begins like this, "God wanted to talk to Moses. He called Moses to visit Him on the mountain..."

And that, my friends, is the phone connection!!! Silly mom! Where was my head?
